Polymers
Polymers are large molecules composed of repeating structural units (monomers) bonded together. They can be natural (e.g., proteins, cellulose, rubber) or synthetic (e.g., plastics & silicones).
Their properties—such as flexibility, strength, and resistance to chemicals—make them essential in materials science, consumer goods, and industrial applications.
Synthetic polymers, derived primarily from petrochemicals, dominate modern manufacturing, with widespread use in packaging, textiles, electronics, and medicine.
